FRANK HYDER speaks about the "Square Foot Art Basel" exhibition he designed and coordinated during Art Week in Miami. This international open call to artists resulted in a uniquely diverse and democratic show.  Each work, whether photo, print, painting or sculpture, had to conform to a 12x12" format. Artist KIM YANTIS connects her work to the residency she participated in at the Charles Deering Estate, where she interpreted Deering's interest the interplay of water currents, coastline and preservation of the unique mangrove coastline into a series of collage/stitchery artworks. JESSICA BARBER describes her layered working process in creating a mixed-media piece from her "industrial complex" series. It depicts a power plant glowing red through a web of electrical lines and train tracks.
